In the Window by SiverCat In the Window by SiverCat
For the :iconguildofdeviousness: promt - a leering face in the window.

The idea hit me suddenly and I had to do it. The image itself wasn't too difficult, but I spent quite a long time trying to get the lighting right, and while it's supposed to be quite dark, I'm worried it will be too dark on some people's screen. I'll just have to see I guess.

I seem to be getting a thing for animated evil pumpkins lol.

Happy Hallowe'en! :evillaugh:

You are quite welcome -- I must admit, windows can be quite scary some nights, for one never quite knows what lurks beyond them.

Faces in windows are particularly spooky, just the thought of them. :fear:

Thank you! It took a lot of time to get it right :)

I'm starting to think I'm not going to be looking at pumkins the same way if I keep going at this rate.

Looks like you managed to work out the lighting, the candle light looks fine and the pumpkin is working like he did before. It is quite a bit dark on my screen, mostly it obscures the pumkin's hands and arms(looking closely I can see them), but I can make out the trees and skyline faily well. Tossing it in photoshop and using its basic autocolor though brings it all into easy visibility. It actually kind of works well this way, spooky trees and eerie eyes staring in at the girl. She should move away from the window!

I did want it quite dark, but I also wanted viewers to be able to make out the details dimly. As long it's not some shapes seeming to float in darkness lol, though the pumkin's arm should be a bit visible. At least it is on my screen. Lighting is so tricky! This was a definite, but fun, experiment :D

I have a feeling that my application of auto contrast probably arrived at what your view is, makes it easy to see but remains dark. The trees definately are recognizeable so no floating shapes there, the right arm for the pumpkin could be mistaken as part of the tree I suppose until you look closer into the darkness. You really don't even need to do that though to tell the pumpkin is looking in to get her. So I'd say you pulled off the lighting here. Can tell you're having fun with these Evil Demonic Pumpkins! =D

I'm glad it works. I was concerned about this one - especially since it was dark and very experimental for me.

I am having fun with pumpkins. Don't know if I'll look at them quite the same way again now though. lol.

See them all with glowing eyes watching you? We have an own pumpkin with glowing eyes that we carved and assembled. I wonder who (lol) it's watching...
