December by SiverCat December by SiverCat
This was the first image I did for the calendar. I'm just bouncing around to whichever month I feel like doing at the time :D

This one gave me some trouble spacing wise and I'm still not entirely happy. Maybe there'll be some changes made eventually...I don't know.

Yay for all that fun December stuff! Hmm, maybe if the Christmas tree was larger or if there were more trees with a greater variation in sizes. That or perhaps having some falling snow with particles. The building of the snowman is very cute and it looks like the snowball fight is having a Calvin and Hobbes problem of their forts being too far apart, judging by the already thrown snowballs :P

There was maybe a little Calvin and Hobbes inspiration for the snowball fight :D.

I could try more trees...I just worry about things getting cluttered. If I knew how to do falling snow I would! Hmm...something else to try to figure out...

Calvin and Hobbes inspiration ftw =D

Hmm, yeah, don't want it to be too crowded but the trees could work as more of a backdrop so you could put more behind all the rest of the scene. I suppose you could just try a render from a different angel that would have less sky in it. They might have one in the particle choices called snow or rain or weather and using it would be similar to the hair.

As far as I know there isn't a snow or any weather option. Of course I could be missing it.

Maybe I'll try more trees...or try to put in some background hills...

Hmm, could always have some strange name for it too or be part of some other particle type.

Something like that methinks.

I think it looks fine. The only thing I would is add something in the foreground. It seems a bit bare or move in and use that wonderful tree as your focal point.

Ahhh, Being from California I don't think I've ever won a snowball fight though I do believe I've started many. I like all that is happening here. It's a lot of work to build a snowman but so much fun when everyone helps.

I do remember one victory. I was driving from the mountains where it snows with my niece. I took some pictures with her, gathered as much as snow as I could and put it on my hood. I then drove down to my sister's (we all live about 20 minutes from the ocean), broke up the snow so I wouldn't break her face, made a nice snowball and pelted her.

I guess I wasn't a nice little brother!

The foreground was a little bare, but I also don't want things to get to cluttered plus I have to have the right size. *dramatic sigh* Oh the problems of art!

This is why I have all of you, to point these sorts of things out before I finalize everything :D

I haven't had a ton of snowball fights. Tanashai and I went sledding a lot though! Those generally made for some crazy times :D

Brothers and sisters are supposed to do stuff like that. You were just doing your brotherly duty :D
